Description
Ganesha, god of new undertakings and remover of obstacles, captures the essence of modern, evolving India. He brings fortune and success and is the guide to dealing with the challenges that come with them.
The Ganesha series plays with the god’s different aspects. In Series I, he gazes kindly from his ancient stone chhatri niche, four arms bearing his symbolic implements; the broken tusk he used to write the Vedas; the mahout’s goad to check and guide; the mace to strike obstacles, and a bowl of ladoos, sweet blessings of a good life.
In Series III and IV silver and gold leaf take Ganesha back into the temple and reveal his vehicle the humble mouse, a symbol of our restless minds.
