The fish-scale carving.
The purpose of carving patterns into the stone water channels and panels in the mughal gardens was to distrupt and enliven the water that would flow over and heighten the delight.
In the fabulous Aga Khan Mughal gardens in the heart of Delhi watching the water ripple is completely mesmerising.

A defining feature of my artwork is gold leaf.
It is a seductive material, luminous and decorative but here it is also grounding, laid and burnished to accentuate the shape of the fish-scale carving.

Back in the framing workshop at early o’clock yesterday to oversee the final nail-biting trim of artwork. This is one of four pieces, to be framed -I can’t wait !
